Reflection #1

Writing and reading are the most important skills in English. So the idea of having this course is to improve and develop our English skills in reading and writing. Moreover, to teach us new common vocabulary, that would be helpful in our daily communication.

In this course Mr. Gregory Virhovnik, our English teacher was mainly focused in Summarizing and referencing articles. In fact it helped me how to locate the topic sentence, the main idea and the supporting points. Also, I was able to submit my work in a proper way by adding the references in APA format using bibme.org. Not to mention Mr. Gregory and his effort in delivering the content of this course clearly.

Otherwise, I’ve learned how to submit my work on time, because a lot of times Mr. Gregory was taking the attendance depending on that. Also he taught us how to outlines, It’s means how to bring out the main points and how to organizes your work. So learning a lot of new skills in writing and reading, I’m sure that this course will be useful for me in different courses while studying at the college as well as workwise.

In conclusion, studying with such good students and professional teacher are key features for having a great time for education and in the same time enjoying the class and have the right studying environment.

Houbara bustards

The number of Houbara Bustards has been reduced in the past decades, due to poaching and illegal destruction by the human. The Abu Dhabi’s Government has put a wildlife centre in Morocco in order of increase the number of these endangered birds. The centre’s plans are to put these projects in certain places to spread Houbara birds there. Also the centre is concerned in breeding and training the birds to release them into wild, in fact not all of them were released some kept for breeding. The scientists monitor the birds even after they are released, in fact they observed that the number of the birds has been increased in the past 10 years. As a result of that, the project has been success. As the author explains “The success of the programme can be measured though their density in the wild and by observing the number of nests” (Todorova, V. 2011).
